Summer extravaganza! Make a splash with your swimsuit!
It's summer...it's time to make a splash!
I've read a lot of articles about how to choose the best swimsuit for your body recently, as I was looking for one for myself. In the end, I bought one that theoretically is not the best for me, but I love it and I feel so happy in it that I don't care what the articles say! And that's the most important thing about choosing a swimsuit: feel wonderful in it!
But there's something important for everybody: do buy 1 size smaller than you think you'ld need. Swimsuits tend to stretch after they get wet once! This is true for the atheletes, the curvy ones and the plus size ladies. The swimsuit that fit you perfectly the first time, may be too big next day at the beach.
Here are 7 tips for choosing the right swimsuit for your body:
1. High cut and high waist will make your legs look longer.
2. Long vertical lines to make you look slimmer, particularly if the print has alternating dark and light lines.
3. Skirted swimsuits that cover the upper part of your thighs will tame the curves of a pear-shaped body.
4. A plunging neckline will drive the eyes upwards, away from your hips.
5. Small bust? Not a problem. If you want to make it look larger, use brighter colors on the top, whether it's a 1-piece swimsuit or a bikini. Or choose a style with padding or an underwire that pushes it up. A ruffled bandeau is excellent to accentuate your bust too.
6. Large bust? not a problem either. If you're choosing a style with straps, choose wider shoulder straps. Brighter colors on the bottom part of your swimsuit or a large print fabric will give the illusion of a smaller bust. Crossed halter styles also help with the support for your bust.
7. Want to hide your tummy? Use diagonal designs like one-shoulder designs or diagonal prints. A tankini or accentuating your bust will also help (use the tips for small bust).
But remember...it's YOU that is beautiful, not your clothes :) Coco Chanel - the famous fashion and perfume designer - once said that when she designed clothes for people to look at the beautiful woman wearing it, not for people to say how beautiful the dress was! And she was right! So...show your curvy figure, or your athletic figure...whatever it is...with joy and pride.
I hope this helps you decide what swimsuit to buy for yourself. If you click on the following pictures, you will find a page in Amazon so you can purchase it...or explore and get another one you love! Thanks for visiting!
