In a health-minded society like today's, nobody can stop thinking about "hole foods". It sounds as healthy as broccoli, but it's more fun. It seems to be that no matter how hard we're hammered by health tips and scientific information about the benefits of delicacies like, yes, broccoli (again!), we keep thinking about HOLE foods...because we love them. We may yield to temptation or not, but we keep them in our mind...sort of an obsession or almost like love. Even after breaking up, we keep thinking about the object of our passions! And we have the excuse that "hole" sounds like "whole" so we rationalize our way back to them, even if just in thoughts. If you haven't figured it out yet, this unhealthy guilty pleasure that I call hole foods is the same thing some other people more overtly call donuts! And yes, we love them...warts and all! It's that time of the year...the holidays! With Halloween past us, it's time to prepare for Thanksgiving. One of the key things we do is contact and invite friends or relatives we haven't talked to in months or years and send them our best wishes. I have friends, very dear to me, that live far away, and a Thanksgiving card triggers the only time we talk. We receive each other's card, and that brings on a phone call or, if possible, sometimes even a visit. And you probably know how true friends are: it's like we talked yesterday! We all love the personal touch of a paper card. And it gets even more personal when you can get your name (or the recipient's) printed on them.
