A Midsummer's Night Date ....what to wear?
It's summer..it's hot...and you have a date tonight! What to wear?
Unless you know that you're going to a formal cocktail or a symphonic orchestra concert, or you're going to meet the Ambassador of some country, you need something casual, beautiful, relaxed, oh so feminine.. aaaand flattering! Those are the clothes that will set the mood for conversation and getting closer if it's right!
Slip dresses are perfect for a night casual look. You can compliment it with a linen long blouse or cardigan over it, pumps and accessories to match.
A single color for the clothes, shoes and accessories is the classy way to go. Lighter colors, particularly white, will keep you cool on a summer night...but who doesn't love a black dress?! Longer dresses are more romantic and elegant, and shorter is sassier...that's your decision! Men will love red, but it may be too forward if it's your first date...but, hey...who's counting?! More colorful looks are great too, and more festive and informal. Linen, cotton and gauze will keep you cool, particularly if the dress has lace trims (lace is in too!), but do not overdo the lace or it will end up too formal. Keep it flowy, like your hair,...movement is attractive! You know yourself, and you know the guy...the color is your choice!
Here are some ideas for dresses...
I hope this helps!! Good luck on the date!
