A Cool Laptop is a Happy Laptop

Laptops have very tiny, delicate components that deform or melt when the computer's temperature rises.  Overheating may happen when you use your computer to the limits of its capacity...like trying to play a game with complex graphics on an Pentium. When vents are blocked. Or when the computer is getting old.  Your laptop may become slow, you may be unable to open more than a few programs (maybe only 1!) at a time, freeze, or, in the worst cases, it may just shut down and reboot at the peak temperature.  And one day..it may stop working...its little circuits will have melted! So we must do all possible to keep laptops happily cool.  If you notice your laptop is hot to touch, suddenly shutting down or getting slow...get it checked and cleaned. The usual culprit is dust clogging the vents. Cleaning it will restore at least some of venting capacity and prolong your laptop's life.  Never put your laptop over a blanket or anything else that blocks its vents. ...

Gaming PC for Christmas (or whenever) ! !

Dreamy eyes, huh?! I know the feeling!  Gaming computers (whether laptop or desktop types) make awesome Christmas gifts. Honestly speaking, they make great gifts at any time of the year! As for the graphic card, everybody dreams of an NVIDIA GE Force 3080, but that's needed when you want to play in 4k resolution; if you're happy with 1080 you don't need such a gigantic, expensive graphic card.  Also remember if you're buyi...

Back to School 2017! Great Backpacks..from pre-school kids to teens and college students!

Image
Buying a backpack is not just about style and looks, it's also about the health of your kid's back health and his or her needs. From what I noticed , there are a few popular brandnames of backpacks ..so I have included those in the links below. Here are a few useful tips! Teen Vogue, Forbes and a few other magazines I checked out tend to coincide often and mention a few most frequently (Jannsport, SwissGear, Kipling Northface, Everest, Patagonia). 1. Before your child uses it, fill the backpack with what the child must carry to school and make sure it's no more than 15% of the weight of the child. 2. Choose a style that has 2 wide, contoured shoulder straps, as these distribute the weight evenly over the back. Adjust the straps to make the bottom of the backpack rest over the lower back, not too far below the waistline. 3. If your child comes back from school at dusk, choose a backpack that has reflective parts or attach reflective material to it. 4. Think of ever...
